Save Internet Radio

Well it seems that the RIAA is at it again, the U.S. Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) is wanting to raise the royalty rates that webcasters pay to the record labels. The new rates that are trying to be placed in effect would force webcasters to pay for the streaming of each individual song to each user. This is completly rediculious, they don't do crap like that to the radio companies how can they enforce such a crazy royalty rate? I mean common internet radio is free advertising for most "undiscovered" bands. People find new bands off of internet radio and it would seem from the results from this "save the internet radio petition" that most people actually go out and buy the albums. The RIAA and CRB are not going to be happy until they go completely bankrupt! I love music and I love internet radio, considering the stations around here, 95rock and 92.3 WAEG, SUCK! The only way I get my music fix is from ChronixMetal and I really do not want this privilege of listenting to great music to be taken away!
So what to do?
Well! do what Americans normally do fight with our words and opinions. One thing you can do is sign the "save internet radio" petition. Another thing you can do is write, call, E-mail your elected officials. Not sure who they are? Swing over to congress.org and you can find issues and your officials with ease.

Internet radio is in danger of becoming EXTINCT! If you want your only source of Aggressive music to stay online read below...THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AND SERIOUS.

The U.S. Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) has just issued a decision on the royalty rates that webcasters have to pay to record labels for the period 2006-2010.

The rates are so high that they exceed 100% of most webcasters'' total revenues and ChroniX Radio is no different! If the CRB''s decision stands, the retroactive portion for 2006 alone will bankrupt virtually all independent webcasters, including ChroniX Radio. Think of your day without ChroniX. And it gets better; the annual rate increases will drive the rest of Internet Radio stations out of business.

ChroniX Radio needs you.....NOW!!

Here''s how you can help: You can sign an online petition , and/or you can call, write, or e-mail (Calling is best) your representatives in the U.S.
Congress. They work for you, they are your representative, give them an earful.

Along with all other independent webcasters, ChroniX Radio may only be a few WEEKS away from being driven out of business. Please help if you want to keep your metal and aggressive music online.
