Refresh Augusta First Meeting

Attended my first Refresh Augusta meeting, there was some great conversations on the plate about what we hope to make Refresh Augusta and how we may have a webish/techish camp here in the Augusta area sometime next year. We hope to bring people out of the wood works because we really do think there is a much larger group of techies than we see everyday.

Here is a quick rundown of what happened.

Chris Harrison and Nik Wilets gave us a quick rundown about what Refresh Augusta was and what they see the group becoming and how it will help out people in and around the CSRA. Chris Harrison also mentioned sending out a survey that will allow people to let the group know what they hope to learn or cover in the next session.

David Fugate talked to us about how he is hoping to open a extraordinary technology community based shop here in town. I am sure he would love to go more into detail of that when the time comes to announce what is going to happen with that.

After that there was some REALLY cool give aways:

• 3 passes to the Webmaster Jam Session 2008 in Atlanta.
• An aluminum Adobe Water Bottle
• A t-shirt(Not sure what was on that) from Adobe
• A copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2

Basically after that is was open forum and we just sat around some of us talking about Drupal and Wordpress and somethings we had learned from past experiences just hanging out having a good time.
